Villa Calicantus set out to prove that it is possible to produce great Bardolino for aging which is why they have returned to the roots of a grape variety that, as a result of mass production and standardisation, has been overlooked in recent years. At Villa Calicantus they believe that by meticulously working the vines it is possible to see a return to the great Bardolino wines from the ‘60s, where drinkability, elegance, delicacy, and complexity were the name of the game.
